Planning my own funeral

I've decided to start working on planning my funeral. I had a look on the calender and have realised that technically speaking, i've got 6 more months. Now i know exactly how imprecise medicine is in terms of predicting death, but i feel ready now and i don't really want to leave it all to my family. I come up with a few 'rules' to help me design my fun-eral and i would like your ideas as well.

1. It is a 'fun' -eral not a funeral. People must try to laugh at least once during my… Continue

diagnosis and treatment

I was diagnosed with Stage IIIc, Grade 3 Ovarian Cancer in April 2008, turned 32 in May and had extensive abdominal surgery removing all non vital organs and tissue. Residue was left behind and in June I was also diagnosed with Breast Cancer. That same month I travelled to Italy to have a Laparoscopy and remove the residual left behind and other disease found in the abdomen. I am also being treated with Sodium Bicarbonate and have a tube inserted into the abdomen to self adminster the solution… Continue

Tzar and No Surrender

Dear all

I cant imagine the pain you all have, but as a good friend of Jason's who saw him and his fight for life. I want you all to keep fighting. I own an artisan deli in Radlett Herts and if we can help at Tzar with dietry foods that may help fight the fight do let me know? Jason always kept pushing, as what else is there to do. Sometimes life seems hard, there are no buts. Just keep fighting and a positive mental attitude does help.

Any member of this site should make themselves… Continue

Cancer’s daughter

The new member to the family

When I had got home from a long day or what felt like a long day of school, I had no idea of what had happened during those 6 hours. I got in and my Mum and my Step-dad (who I call Mark) sat me down and said they had some very sad news. I could feel the sadness in the air, and then it hit me. It hit me like a punch in the gut. My Mum had felt a lump and had gone to see a doctor the next day. He then sent her to a special… Continue

another look

Booked in for a fourth look laparoscope and while the surgeon found a couple of small nodules which he removed for biopsy in the peritoneum and one small nodule on the liver which he argon gassed he was very pleased on how clear the site was and said 'Carry on with what your doing because its obviously working'. So the tube has remained and sodium bicarb infusions will continue for another six months when I will have a fifth look and maybe then I can have the tube removed. I feel like ive gone… Continue

No Surrender created this Ning Network.

The No Surrender Social Family is for cancer sufferers and family members directly affected by cancer.

Hi, you have arrived at No Surrender, a Journey we didn't want to make either.

But we know why you are here, for exactly the same reasons other members are here - you have cancer. You have become a member of that club that nobody wants to join.

Well let No Surrender be your Club House. Come in, and meet your fellow members. Feel free to chat, express your thoughts, ask questions and share experiences, and most importantly find friends and laugh and help create that all important positive attitude.

United we can fight the fight and together there will be NO SURRENDER.

JASON BOAS 1974 - 2008

The social family allows users to invite anyone to connect with them as well as keeping your privacy if you choose.
As a member you can personalise your profile and page, as well as uploading photos and videos. You can also have private communication with friends.

The purpose of setting up the social network is one whereby you can communicate and support others in similar circumstances.

This is your social family and No Surrender does not interfere unless requested to by its members.

On that basis No Surrender has some generic House Rules:

• Respect Peoples right to keep their anonymity
• Anyone who signs up who is reported to not either to be a cancer sufferer or a family member directly affected by cancer will be blocked from the network.
• It is strictly forbidden to advertise or promote cures, treatments, or products.
• Any member can report members they believe should not be on the network or abuse to No Surrender through the network.

The No Surrender Charitable Trust does not accept liability for any of the personal views expressed or published by its social family members.
